To run sonarqube as a service we need follow the below steps.

Please open the CMD prompt in Administration mode.

Navigate to the bin path, here I am using windows machine so I will navigate to Windows.

For me this the path- C:\Program Files\sonarqube-enterprise-2025.2.0.105476\sonarqube-2025.2.0.105476\bin\windows-x86-64

Inside this path we will be seeing below files.

To run it as a service, run the below command in the Admin Command Prompt.

.\SonarService.bat install

You will see the prompt that sonarqube was installed successfully.

If we want to run the sonar manually, we can right click on StartSonar and run it as a Administrator and it will start the sonar with a cmd prompt which will showcase the procedure of it running.

If we want to stop sonar then we can simply ctrl+c and it will stop the sonar.

If you have closed the cmd prompt, you can stop it by killing the Java.

You can navigate to the services and see the SonarQube service running.

You can run or stop the sonarqube from the services.
